About this tool
The total number of days is the real number of days between the two dates, counted from midnight to midnight, with leap years included. The years, months and days result counts whole calendar months from the start date, then shows the remaining days.
If you want to count both the first and the last day, for example a hotel booking from the 1st to the 3rd counted as three days, set “Count the end date too” to Yes. If you enter the dates in the wrong order, the tool swaps them and tells you.

Common questions
How many days are in a year?
365, or 366 in a leap year. The tool counts the real days between your dates, so leap days are included.
