Split a PDF file

How to use Split PDF

  1. Click the box (or drag a PDF onto it) to choose your file. The page count appears.
  2. Pick what you want: extract pages into one PDF, make a separate PDF for each range, or save every page as its own PDF.
  3. For the first two options, type the pages you want, for example 1-3, 5, 8-10.
  4. Press Split PDF, then download the result. Several files are delivered together as a ZIP file.

About this tool

Splitting is handy when you only need part of a large document: a single chapter, the signature page of a contract, or one invoice out of a scanned batch.

Extract creates one new PDF containing the pages you list, in the order you list them (so 3, 1 puts page 3 first). Separate PDFs creates one file for each range you type, so 1-3, 4-6 gives two files. Every page creates one file per page and is limited to 300 pages.

Password-protected PDFs cannot be split. Bookmarks, form fields and links to other pages may not be carried over to the new files.

Privacy: This tool runs in your browser. What you type or choose is not sent to a server by this website.

Common questions

How do I extract only some pages?

What do I get when there are several files?

A single ZIP file containing all the PDFs, plus a download link for each file.

Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?

No. The PDF is read and split inside your browser.

Why can I not split my file?

The file may be password-protected, damaged, or larger than 100 MB. The error message explains which.
